Over the last 10 years or so IL Fuels (ILF) has developed two sets of related technologies. The first concerns the separation of oil from mineral matter (e.g., bitumen from oil sands). The second and more recent set of innovations deals with the consolidation and dewatering of tailings ponds and streams. A number of patent applications have been allowed and others are pending. Recognizing that our core strength is R&D, ILF has assigned these patents to Extrakt Process Solutions for development and licensing (https://www.extraktps.com), while ILF continues to develop new technologies and processes.
